A New Day

A New Day

Tiny diamonds dancing in silence, glittering
against the black backdrop of the night sky;
a gust of wind sends them swirling, flittering
their effortless beauty hypnotizes as they fly.

Deep shades of purple steal from the moon's shine
from the sun's early kiss as it begins to rise;
and the world begins to stir with a life so fine,
for the birds sing and chirp songs always wise.

For on this cold winter morn,
the snow falls fresh and steady;
and with a new day born,
we must be at the ready.
