Caleb James K. is the former Editor-in-Chief of the literary journal, Drunken Pen Writing, and the host of the DPW Podcast. He’s also a fiction writer, poet, and aspiring novelist.

Spencer Church

A former aspiring comic book artist, Spencer is the cohost of the DPW Podcast as well as a short story writer and avid reader.

Pinball, 1973 is a novel published in 1980 by Japanese author Haruki Murakami. The second book in the “Trilogy of the Rat” series, is preceded by Hear the Wind Sing, followed by A Wild Sheep Chase, and is the second novel by Murakami.

In this episode, we discuss Pinball’s relationship to the first novel, the themes that run through both, and some of Murakami’s trademark weirdness.
