DPW Podcast #154: What Are You Trying To Say?

Meet
Our Hosts

Caleb James K.

Caleb James K. is the former Editor-in-Chief of the literary journal, Drunken Pen Writing, and the host of the DPW Podcast. He’s also a fiction writer, poet, and aspiring novelist.

Spencer Church

A former aspiring comic book artist, Spencer is the cohost of the DPW Podcast as well as a short story writer and avid reader.

Caleb opens the episode by describing how he would write a gripping story using one of Batman’s goofiest villains.

After that, we get into a discussion about the art of translating fiction. We read some popular excerpt translations of The Brothers Karamazov. This leads us down the road of good and bad translations we’ve read over the years, as well as our opinions on authors changing their novels years after release.
