Meet
Our Hosts
Caleb James K.
Caleb James K. is the former Editor-in-Chief of the literary journal, Drunken Pen Writing, and the host of the DPW Podcast. He’s also a fiction writer, poet, and aspiring novelist.
Spencer Church
A former aspiring comic book artist, Spencer is the cohost of the DPW Podcast as well as a short story writer and avid reader.
We start with an extra “cold” cold open as Caleb talks about his recent illness and working in frigid temperatures.
After that, we read an AMA from the Editor-In-Chief of Story Magazine and learn about their submission reading practices. We discuss how different publications handle submissions, what we think is fair, and what is absolute garbage. Overall, this is a really informative episode.
#232: Top Halloween Reads – Drunken Pen Writing Podcast
In today's cold open, we discuss book genres we need to start reading or read more of. After that, we talk about a whole bunch of books and stories to read for Halloween.
